This is an extra edition piece from the new initiative "Small Art a Week," where I create at least one experimental small artwork every week.
It is part of the project "Small Art a Day Tour," which involves creating small artworks locally while traveling. This particular piece was created during a trip to Paris in November 2022 for a group exhibition.
It was inspired by the boarding pass for the flight to Paris.
Due to budget constraints, I flew to Paris via Abu Dhabi Airport with Etihad Airways, which might not be a popular choice in Japan. However, Etihad Airways actually operates with the new Boeing 787, providing a comfortable and enjoyable flight experience.
Personally, I found the inflight meals delicious. I was delighted to have the option of lamb for the inflight meal, as I am fond of lamb, and the Arabic-style seasoning served with Basmati rice was delightful. Although I had not experienced much Arabic cuisine before, I found it surprisingly delicious. For those who are not fond of Arabic seasoning, there are other menu options available as well. However, considering that there were about four meal services, including snacks, from Japan to Paris, it might have been a bit too much.
I've heard that Etihad Airways offers cheap economy class tickets because Arab billionaires often opt for first class, allowing them to subsidize the cost of economy class tickets. Nonetheless, I found the economy class surprisingly comfortable, and I would consider using it again when traveling to Europe.
*Please note that this artwork is sold with the frame included.
